I’m feeling especially grateful for the beautiful Fall that we are currently experiencing and I hope you are too! I do love summer and greatly enjoy hot weather, but it is still nice when the temperature begins to cool down just a bit and Fall moves in. I have to also add that what I’m loving is the Southern California version of Fall, not the Midwestern one which was a harbinger of winter to come and no matter how beautiful it might be soon gave way to serious cold, ice and snow. I muse about the people I meet who say that they need a change of season in their lives, because, having found the season [or two] that I love, I really don’t miss the ones we don’t get here in Orange County.
What it suggests to me is that there is no “right way” to view the weather - each of us has our own predilections about what makes us happy and fulfills our souls [and, of course, I don’t mean just the weather]. Part of what I love about Unitarian Universalism and the Unitarian Universalist Church in Anaheim is that we know that there is no “right way” to view the world and what most excites us - how is there a “right way” to be frustrated, exasperated, turned off, etc? Our beloved community here in Anaheim is filled with different likes and dislikes, styles, opinions, politics, theologies, etc. We learn from each other, create a wonderful exciting tapestry with our inclusivity as we welcome all who want to come here, and enrich one another’s lives by sharing all those likes, dislikes, opinions, theologies. . . . And, yes, it sometimes gets difficult to get along and we all occasionally disagree [not a bad thing!], but what a wonderful journey it is!
So please know that you are welcome and an important part of this community. We want to know what you love and what you don’t. “We don’t have to think alike to love alike!”
